Dwyane Wade's High School Coach - Jack Fitzgerald Accomplishments


Fitzgerald is entering his fifth year as an assistant coach at Saint Xavier. Prior to working at SXU, Fitzgerald was at Richards High School where his team finished with a 24-5 record in the 1999-2000 season. It was the fourth time in six years that his team had 20-plus wins. Also during his tenure at Richards, his teams won three SICA North titles.

In his 17 years of coaching at Leo High School, Fitzgerald's teams won 314 games, four Catholic League titles and one conference championship. He has won 10 regional titles and three sectional titles in his high school coaching career. Fitzgerald has been inducted into the Leo High School, Lewis University (Ill.), Chicago Catholic League and Illinois Basketball Coaches Association halls of fame. His career high school coaching record is an impressive 444-214.

Fitzgerald graduated with a degree in political science from Lewis in 1974 and obtained his master's degree in history from Chicago State University (Ill.) in 1995. He and his wife Patty reside in Chicago. They have one daughter, Kelly.
